Daniel Isaac is one of the many success stories who have been helped by the Bisbee Coalition for the Homeless and their newly branded Tintown Resource Center.

Isaac, who is now an employee for the organization, told the crowd at Friday’s grand opening of the newly expanded shelter how the organization has helped him.

“I first started out as a guest at their Wednesday community meals,” Isaac said. “Then bad times came around and I became a client,” he said. “They believed in me and then I became a volunteer. Now I work here,” he said to a round of hearty applause in the packed room during the grand opening.

Three years in the making, the development went from an idea scribbled on a napkin to a new expanded and improved shelter that can now help more people get back on their feet.

“I’m just excited about all the things we can do for this community now,” said Executive Director Tony Bedolla. “It’s been three years in the making but we are only just getting started. This is where we are going to have to roll up our sleeves and get to work so we can serve our community, our county, and anyone who comes through our doors in need. We want to be there for them.”

Board president John Acosta and construction supervisor and volunteer Al Anderson with KWR-Castro Electric thanked the many people involved in making the project a reality.
