Local churches donate duffle bags

The Foyil United Methodist Church, in conjunction with the Epworth Methodist Church in Chelsea, recently donated over 50 duffle bags and small suitcases to the Pearls of Hope Transitional Living Program in Tulsa.

These bags will be used by foster children when being removed from their home and placed into foster care. The duffles and suitcases will replace the regular trash bags typically used by caseworkers.

Pastor Waylon Dancer said that this ministry is a result of another Pastor telling him about his experiences in foster care as a child.

God put on the Pastor Waylon’s heart an understanding that, being a child taken from your home by a caseworker with little to none of your favorite clothes and toys or moving between foster homes with your personal belongings in a trash bag, affects a child’s self worth.
