On Friday 18 November, King George and Queen’s Hospitals Charity is hosting a MARVEL-lous Charity Superhero Ball.
Funds raised from the ball will help improve our children’s play areas at our hospitals, making them exciting places for children to enjoy while recovering during a hospital stay, and provide a children’s Christmas party on Saturday 10 December for youngsters in our care.
The ball will take place at Orsett Hall with doors opening at 6:30pm for a sit-down meal at 7:15pm. The last annual charity ball was held in 2019 due to the pandemic. The annual themed charity ball began in 2016, with the first being a Hollywood theme. This year’s theme is MARVEL-lous Superheroes, dedicated to all frontline staff who worked throughout the pandemic.
Lynda Head, Head of Fundraising, told the Havering Daily:
“We need support now more than ever from our local community to join us at our upcoming event. Funds raised will be going to our children’s areas because children in hospital deserve a fun place to play. Our children’s play areas are in need of refurbishment, after they had to be used for essential storage during the pandemic.”
The ball is an excellent way to celebrate a work Christmas party, or a chance to have a family and/or friends’ night out in the lead up to Christmas.
