The summer season officially arrived this past week, and in Laredo that means temperatures are bound to routinely eclipse 100 degrees.
For those living on the streets, that can spell danger.
Since many homeless do not have access to an air-conditioned area, or even water at times, Bethany House of Laredo is making sure they have boots on the ground to help the homeless. This includes bottled water to help them stay hydrated, sunscreen to protect their skin and other items necessary to deal with the heat.
However, due to the summer being a traditionally low fundraising season, the spokesperson for Bethany House says they are limited in what they can do.
