A Greeley woman has had her fair share of Pap tests, abnormal results and biopsy surgeries, but one routine cervical screening can be credited with saving her life.
Trina Fults, a 41-year-old wife, mom of three and an elementary teacher at Billie Martinez Elementary School in Greeley, was diagnosed with stage 1B cervical cancer in fall 2018.
During Cervical Health Awareness Month, the cervical cancer survivor reflected back on her diagnosis, her lengthy recovery after surgery and the importance of routine health screenings.
As someone who has recovered from cervical cancer, her advice to those eligible for a routine Pap test is to go get it done, especially since most people diagnosed never experience symptoms.
