A New York-based charity raised money to pay off the mortgages for the widows of two Dallas police officers who were killed in July. Inside a conference room at the Dallas Police Association, Emily Thompson and Heidi Smith both received some much needed good news.

Smith stood with her two daughters as she accepted the gift.
