Wrapping for charity in South Burlington

Multiple generations of the Lynch family pitched in their time on Saturday afternoon to wrap gifts to raise money for ANEW Place at the University Mall.

The charity has raised money by recruiting volunteers to wrap gifts in exchange for a small fee for over two decades. ANEW Place is focused on long-term solutions to homelessness, said Michelle Omo, the marketing and development director of the organization, and is about to transition their first client to the final step of their new four-step program.

For Karen Lynch-Harmon, her sister-in-law Mary Lynch, and Lynch’s daughter, Carrie Eyer, formerly Carrie Lynch, volunteering is a holiday tradition. Lynch-Harmon has been volunteering for eight or nine years, she said. Lynch said she’s been volunteering for seven years, and Eyer said this would be either her fifth or sixth year.
