Blanket drive kicks off to help the homeless

Cold winter temperatures are bearing down on northeast Oklahoma, and a Coweta business is stepping up to make a difference to help those who are homeless stay warm.

Bowman Heat & Air at 13449 S. State Hwy. 51 is conducting a blanket drive now through December 31. Business owners Cameron and Athena Olden are collecting new or gently used blankets to deliver to the Tulsa Day Center for the Homeless.

They are also accepting personal hygiene items.Athena Olden said this is a first-time endeavor for the business, but one that is near and dear to her heart.
