Seattle girl’s ‘blessing bags’ help homeless

A Seattle girl and her family want to help the city’s homeless get through these chilly nights, so they’re handing out bags stuffed with supplies and a hand-written Christmas card.

“There’s socks, there’s cough drops, there’s flashlights, and umbrellas,” said 6-year-old Daphne Kalso, who handed out some of her “blessing bags” on Saturday morning.

“Merry Christmas. I hope this stuff is usable,” the note reads.Daphne and her mom Sheena came up with the idea after Daphne noticed some people sleeping outside near their North Seattle home.
