Dana Heidelberger first found Wellspring six years ago when she needed a wig after cancer treatments caused her hair to fall out.But she found more than a wig that day. She found a place where she feels taken care of and understood as she undergoes treatments for multiple myeloma, a form of blood cancer.
“I was so impressed with what they have,” said Heidelberger, 50, of Clarke County. “It’s such a ministry.”
Heidelberger was one of the people on hand Wednesday for an open house to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Wellspring, Valley Health’s cancer resource center at 525 Amherst St..
