Blake Shelton donated $600,000 to a facility for pediatric cancer patients after his concerts in Oklahoma City Saturday night.

During the concert, Shelton brought up one of his young relatives on stage and told the audience a bit about her battle with cancer.

“This time last year, we had a scare. And, we didn’t know what was going going to happen,” he said. “And, you can see that she’s here right now.”

Shelton spoke about the Jimmy Everest Center, where his relative was treated.

“They don’t turn any kids away. You come in there, you got a problem, they don’t turn anybody away, so I thought ‘That’s a place that needs some money,’” he said.

The Jimmy Everest Center is Oklahoma’s only full-service children’s cancer program, and partners with Children’s Hospital Foundation and Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, according to the website.

Shelton then announced both the concerts’ proceeds were being donated to the children’s cancer center, as he signed the $600,000 oversized check.
