A Tyler woman is turning tragedy into triumph as she celebrated her deceased child’s birthday Friday.
Little Jackson was born prematurely, two years ago.
Since then, his mother has celebrated “others” on his special day.
“They brought him over to me and I just rocked him until he went to sleep and then that was it,” said Kynna Adams, Jackson’s mother.
Jackson was born weighing one pound.
“I gave birth to Jackson at 25 weeks,” said Adams.
She added, “he was very premature.”
Each year since Jackson’s death, she’s held a birthday party for him.
This year, she had a special wish on behalf of her son.
“The rule is that everyone has to bring a donation for one of our special needs charities and they have to bring items to place into care packages,” said Adams.
Many of those who attended the party were people Kynna met as she grieved.
She now calls them “Jackson’s Friends.”
Some of those people loss children of their own.
“I look at her and think as much as she’s gone through and she is taking his loss and giving back to other people,” said Melissa Downing, Jackson’s Friend.
